Chad was born and raised in South Dakota. The northern Great Plains is and always will be his home. Like many he picked up his first camera at a young age. In High School he was a nationally recognized photographer, claiming many regional and national awards.
Chad’s formal photographic and design training happened in Kansas City where he was also fortunate to work for one of Kansas City’s fashion studio. After marrying his High School sweetheart Becky in 85, they moved back to South Dakota where they established their roots for raising a family.
For whatever dumb reason Chad backed away from his photography, only bringing out his gear to photograph family portraits and couple weddings a year. Then in 2002 something happened. Chad attended the LifeLight Music Festival and met a friend who was photographing the bands. Chad decided to load up his old Minolta cameras with film and help him out. That decision would change his life.
In 2003 Becky and Chad opened a small studio in downtown Sioux Falls called Great Plains Studio. After a couple of moves, they have settled in a spacious 1,600 sq foot studio. Chad works with clients locally and on a national level.
In 2011 they launched their Fine Art & Landscape Photography website. This new venture showcases Chad’s photography and artwork. Though South Dakota is home base, they love to travel. Chad’s images and art from around the world are available through this website.
